'Lady like'.

Whilst watching a video today about the 'Bright Young things' from the 1920's, I found myself experimenting with my fine liner and creating thicker over laying lines and created obscurely dressed or decorated women.

The insparation was how the Bright Young things were portrayed in the document, as wild, carefree and often horrendous looking, yet they were showered with love, attention despite their lack of real talent or ambition. Though these designs are not quite as obscene and culturally out of place, I feel they have a sense of carefree and outrageous behavior.

I hope to do a male equivilent to these designs, especially after learning more about how men responded to this cultural outbreak.

Poetry- Illustrative responses

One of the new briefs I was given today for Illustration was to create an Illustrative response to a paired line from 'Nature Trail' by Benjamin Zephaniah. Poetry being one of the things I take enjoyment from, alongside art, meant this gave me almost immidiate inspiration.

'There's this constant search for food
And then there's all that flowering.'

The poem is aimed at a much younger audiance, but I think children can enjoy a more complex image once in a while.
